Afrobeats singer Davido has emphasised the significant contributions of Africans in both the medical and entertainment industries.
During an appearance on the Afric TV program, Davido claimed that many of the best doctors in the United States are of Nigerian descent.
He also highlighted the growing influence of African creatives in the global music industry, noting that Western filmmakers are increasingly turning to the continent for inspiration.
Davido pointed out that Africans are bringing innovative ideas to the table, citing his own experiences working with his label.
He expressed his optimism about Africa’s future, stating that the continent has immense potential and is “next” in terms of global influence.
He noted that Netflix and Amazon Prime are already looking to Africa for movie ideas, and that Nigerian films are gaining prominence on these platforms.
He said: “The best doctors in America are Nigerians. You can search it. Even in my record label [Sony Music], Africans bring the best ideas. That shows that our imagination is off the grid.
“Netflix and Amazon Prime come to Africa to get movie ideas. Now, when you come on Netflix, you will see about two Nigerian movies in the top 10. Africa is next, trust me. I feel like we have everything but just missing a couple of things.”
