Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has announced a minimum wage of N85,000 for civil servants in Lagos State.
The Governor made this known on Wednesday while speaking on Channels TV programme Politics Today monitored by CKNNews
Here are some of the highlights in case you missed out on the one-hour long interview:
1. Lagos will pay N85,000 as minimum wage. It would be my joy to further increase it to 100,000 by next year.
2. We have tripled our budget size since we came on board in 2019. Today Lagos is doing N2.3 trillion, with a budget performance of more than 90% year on year. Our administration is probably going to close this year’s budget at N2.5 trillion. Next year, the administration intends to do N3trillion.
3. We have developed robust integrated urban mass transportation system in Lagos, with rail, BRT buses, water transportation, taxis, last mile buses and in all public transportation services.
4. Everything is ready on the construction of the fourth mainland bridge except money. Fund is delaying the take off.
5. Work has begun on the alternative Airport at Ibeju-Lekki.
6. Lagos being ranked high in terms of good nightlife is jubilation but I am more concerned about how to sustain the economy of the metropolis.
7. My administration has taken different measures to provide relief for Lagos residents amid the prevalent hunger and hardship in Nigeria.
