INEC chairman, IGP, Meet To Discuss February Bye Election


 

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, joined by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and other commission members, convened the inaugural meeting of the year with the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to enhance collaboration with security agencies  ahead of the by elections in February.


INEC disclosed this on its X handle on Tuesday, January 23.


The caption reads: "Ongoing… Hon. Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and Members of the Commission in a first meeting of the year with the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to strengthen collaboration with security agencies. Ensuring the safety of voters, electoral officials, materials, and the overall environment in the preparation for the upcoming round of elections(Bye/Rerun) scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024."
