The Nigerian Police Force has appointed a new head for its IRT Squad
He is Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammed Sanusi
Police Spokesman ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this known this post on his twitter handle
"Behold, the new commander IRT, DC Mohammed Sanusi. His team has arrested many kidnappers and recovered arms and ammunition, many of which were displayed recently.
Just 2 days after the launching of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) in abuja, by the IGP, IRT has picked 2 gun runners and 4 suspected kidnappers who terrorise the FCT and neighbouring communities.
The operations are still on. Details to come soon, as we intend to brief the media/Nigerians on these developments. We count on your support to do more. Thanks."
The first Commander of the squad was the embattled DCP Abba Kyari followed by CP Tunji Disu who is now Rivers State Police Commissioner
