A United States citizen identified only as Haynes, who was wrongfully convicted of first-degree murder has been freed after 20 years in prison.
Haynes was accused of killing 55-year-old Randy Sherer at a Minneapolis shop.
This was disclosed in a video shared on the official Instagram page of CNN on Tuesday.
The judge on Monday, overturned his wrongful conviction based on unconstitutional witness identification.
In the video, Haynes said, "It means so much to me but someone with that much power to now recognize that I am innocent, and correct it, I can't even explain what it means to me".
He was received by his family and friends after Hennepin's county attorney, Mary Moriarty, pronounced him a free man.
