The Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Prof Abiodun Adebayo, has expressed delight at the just-released Times Higher Education 2023 Subject Rankings which saw the university topping all universities in the country in five subjects.
In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, Adebayo said the accomplishments the university had recorded in the past years were not by power or might but by the validity of God’s covenant word over the university.
He pointed out that the university, which he described as God’s own, had been given a unique mandate to raise a new generation of leaders in all spheres of human endeavour.
CU topped all universities in the country in five subjects as revealed in the just-released Times Higher Education 2023 Subject Rankings.
The university was featured prominently in business and economics, social sciences, computer science, engineering, and physical sciences subjects.
The higher institution was also declared the only private university in the league tables, while no state university featured at all.
The federal universities with impressive rankings are the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; University of Ibadan; University of Lagos; Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta; University of Ilorin; Obafemi Awolowo University; Federal University of Technology, Akure; Bayero University, Kano; and the University of Benin.
