Abductors Of Osun NURTW Boss Demand N15m

A source close to the family of a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State, Kazeem Alli, on Monday, said his abductors have demanded N15m ransom for his release.

The police command in the state had said some hoodlums attacked Alli with machete around Oke Alfa, Apomu, on Saturday, and took him to an undisclosed location.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said Alli’s abductors contacted one of his wives, Jemila, and demanded N15m ransom.

“The kidnappers have reached out to Alli’s family. They warned us not to let anybody know about the negotiations. They have been reaching the family through Alli’s wife, Jemila. They have demanded N15m ransom but we were not allowed to speak to Alli. We are praying for his safe return,” the source said.

The police spokesperson in the state, Yemisi Opalola, said in a statement that eight people had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Opalola could not be reached for a reaction to the abductor’s demand. She had not replied to a text message sent to her on the issue as of the time of filing this report.
