Global human rights body, Amnesty International has asked the Military to put an end to the reported killings in Oyigbo area of Rivers.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, it said:” Amnesty International is receiving disturbing reports from Oyigbo Rivers State.
“Despite the existing curfew, soldiers are allegedly invading homes, some residents reported seeing dead bodies on the streets, allegedly shot by soldiers.
“We are calling on the Military authorities to exercise restraint and stop the killings”.
The Military had explained it was fishing for members of the Proscribed Indigenous People’s of Biafra (IPOB) who killed six soldiers and four policemen during the violence that trailed the #EndSars protests in Rivers.
