Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el Rufai, on Friday announced the reshuffling of the state's executive council. He said that the changes became necessary following the death of the state's education commissioner, Prof. Jonathan Nok.
A professor of Biochemistry, Nok, died on November 21, 2017, after a brief illness at the age of 55. As part of the reshuffling, Mr. Ja'afaru Sani was moved from the Ministry of Local Government to head the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
According to Governor el Rufai's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity , Mr. Samuel Aruwan, two new commissioners are joining the state cabinet. The new commissioners are Mrs. Ruth Alkali for the Ministry of Commerce , Industry and Tourism, and Dr. Ibrahim Hamza as the pioneer Director General of the Kaduna State Facilities Management Agency, Ministry of Water Resources.
Among those who retained their portfolios are Umma Hikima, Ministry of Justice; Suleiman Abdu Kwari, Ministry of Finance; Dr. Paul Dogo, Ministry of Health and Human Services; and Muhammed Sani Abdullahi, Planning and Budget Commission.
