Co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Group, Aisha Yesufu, has berated the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration for setting aside $1 billion from the Excess Crude Account to tackle Boko Haram.
Members of the Nigerian Governors Forum had on Thursday approved the withdrawal of $1 billion during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting that was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki disclosed the resolution while briefing State House correspondents. Reacting to the approval by the Nigerian Governors Forum, Yesufu in a series of tweets, stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, known for criticising the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan for looting funds, was about to do same.
Aisha wrote: “Now all the recent attacks make sense! New billionaires are to be made. Time for looting and sharing while citizens die.“It is well! Let’s keep up the sycophancy“Today’s victims were yesterday’s survivors and tomorrow’s victims would be today’s survivors!
"The looting in the last administration that many of you now have the guts to talk about this was how some of us warned about it.”Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State had on Friday excluded himself from governors that approve the withdrawal from the Excess Crude Account.
Fayose wondered what the federal government would need the money for when it said Boko Haram has been technically defeated.
