The Federal Road Safety Corps says there is no going back on its decision to commence psychiatric test for all road traffic offenders starting from July 1st 2017.
The Corps Marshal of the FRSC ,Dr Boboye Oyeyemi stated this on Tuesday while speaking at the 1st CKN News Annual Lecture held in Nigeria's economic hub,Lagos.
According to him,it has become imperactive to make sure that traffic offenders are brought to book,so that they don't continue to constitute a danger to other road users .
To this effect,traffic offenders when arrested will be taken to hospitals for psychatric tests,and if found culpable,appropriate sanctions will be taken against them.
They will also foot the bill for the test,he concluded.
Aggravating crashes and disobedience to road traffic laws and regulation, beginning from 1 July, 2017, the following life threatening offences shall be viewed more seriously and offenders caught subjected to psychiatric examination to determine their mental wellness:
(1) Use of Phone While Driving
(2) Route Violation
(3) Traffic Light Violation and
(4) Dangerous Driving as well as Overloading

confirmation of their sanity or otherwise.
