Acting President
Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, felicitates with former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji
Aliyu Ibrahim Attah, on his 80th birthday, today, May 12, 2017.
The Acting
President joins family, friends and also professional colleagues of the former
Inspector-General of Police in celebrating the milestone, preceded by many
years of meritorious service to the nation, and humanity.
While noting his
patriotic service, Professor Osinbajo commends Alhaji Attah for the reforms he
brought into the Police Force as he rose through the ranks, culminating in the
upgrade of the communication and networking structure of the institution that
saw more measured prevention of crimes, speedy response, digital tracking and
profiling of criminal suspects.
As the former
Inspector-General of Police becomes an octogenarian, the Acting President
recalls that the increase of the Nigerian Police Force in numbers and
skill-sets between 1990 and 1993 were largely inspired by Attah, a notable feat
of no mean historical relevance.
He wishes Alhaji
Attah longer life, good health and prays to God that as his days are, so shall
his favor and strength be.
