Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and
former member of the House of Representative, Hon. Uche Onyeagocha has accused
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State of an agenda to rule the state for a
third term by proxy by ensuring that his son in-law and Chief of Staff become
the next governor come 2019.
Speaking at the occasion of the 2017 World Press
Freedom Day held at the NUJ Secretariat yesterday, he accused him of running
for third a term in 2019 hiding under his son in-law, Uche Nwosu.
Onyeagocha said: “Uche Nwosu his son in-law has no power to dream to run for governorship position of Imo State.”
While advising Okorocha to focus on his presidency, he called on him to resign his position as governor for his son inlaw if he wanted him to be governor But in a statement, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Engr Obinna Nshirim condemned what he described as inflammatory statement made against the governor by the former federal lawmaker, saying whoever eyeing the governorship seat should not look beggarly in nature.
