Forward

In one book of poems, I find pieces which express scripture, increase one's awareness of his environment, both in terms of socio-political experiences, and in terms of building relationships, accepting pain and thriving in hostile environments.

This book gives you all the feelings. A work this excellent is not surprising, because Obiorah "The Poet" Momife is the spirit behind it, communicating to us in a manner that we all can relate to. Do not say I did not warn you, that some poems in this book will give you hope, some will make you yearn to love and be loved, and some will drag you into the realm of critical thinking, something a lot of adults lack these days.

This book of poems will call us back to things we have forgotten, which we ought to remember. And if that is all it does, apart from the instant intellectual orgasms it provides, then this book has very well served its purpose. Thank you so much again kind sir and "Big-Brother-Poet", for making us feel more human.

Praise for Where Two Roads Meets and Other Poems:

‘Where Two Roads Meet’ is full of accomplished poems. It is a book …about life and death, survival, triumphs, losses and coping. Some are dark, some sad, others reflect regret, soured relationships, triumphs and love. Each is a lesson in life!

‘No Spanking’, ‘The Balanced Mind’, two favourites of mine, are harrowing and knowing. They make one feel a bit dizzy, coming at reality rather slantwise!

Obiorah has presented a book of poems full of surprises and delights, with twists in language, double meanings, leaps of thought and imagination, and interesting line breaks!
More than just poetry, ‘Where Two Roads Meet’ is a document which will help many, in the years ahead, come to grips with life in this world.

... a painting of social issues captured from the recesses of deep emotion. Opinionated and blunt yet instructive and philosophical.

- Dr. Etiido Inyang, Visual Arts Dept, University of Port Harcourt, River State, Nigeria.

Obiorah Momife has proven his talent beyond any form of query; succinctly expressing himself through these poems. Excellent collection!

- Tomide Alo, Freelance Editor, Ibadan. Oyo State, Nigeria.

This body of work can feed the soul of humanity. Full of spirited wisdom and eloquent poetic lines. I found each poem compelling and uniquely intriguing. It’s a wonderful work of art worthy of every read. Masterful in essence, kind in deliverance. I consider this collection of poetry a creative and intellectual beauty. Empowering, uplifting and resounding.
