The Police operatives in Lagos yesterday rescued a medical doctor
kidnapped at the highbrow St Francis hospital along Awolowo road Ikoyi Lagos last Saturday.
CKN News had exclusively broke the news about the
abduction in the early hours of last week weekend although we reported those kidnapped
were white expatriate doctors working in the hospital.
But the State Commissioner of Police,Mr Fatai Owoseni
who exclusively spoke to CKN News surrounded by the Deputy
Commissioner of Police Operations, Assistant Commissioner in Charge of Training as well
as the Commander, Rapid Responds Squad, ACP Tunji Disu said the medical doctor was
rescued without any harm by a crack team of the anti kidnapping squad of the
command.
No ransom was paid.
Meanwhile two civilians (male, female) were killed
yesterday in a failed robbery and kidnap attempt at Ajegunle area of Ikorodu of Lagos .
According to the State Commissioner of police, the
Kidnappers who gained entry into the area through the sea were repelled by
the combined team of the regular police and the RRS aided by an Armed Personnel
Carrier (APC.
They escaped back through the creek but killed two
people in their desperate bid to escape.
The Commissioner of Police ask Lagosians to be
extremely vigilant this season as some desperate miscreants may want to take
advantage of the Yuletide period to commit all sorts of crime.
All suspicious movement should be reported to the
nearest police command in the State.
He assured Lagosians of a crime free season.
