President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an immediate investigation into allegations of corruption levelled against some key Government officials.
Some of those being investigated are the Acting Chairman of the EFCC,Ibrahim Magu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation,Babachir Lawal as well as the Chief of Staff to the President.
Some of the officers have been in the eyes of the storm in recent time over corruption charges .
The EFCC Chairman's confirmation was recently rejected by the Senate over what it termed "damaging security reports",while the Secretary to the Federal Government was alleged to have used companies linked to him to corner over N200m meant for IDP camps in the North.
This was the terse statement issued by the Special Assistant ,Media to the President,Garba Shehu
"The attention of the presidency has been drawn to a number of reports in the media, in which various accusations of corruption have been levelled against some top officials in the administration.
In that regard, President Buhari has instructed the Attorney General of the Federation to investigate the involvement of any top government officials accused of any wrong-doing. If any of them are liable they will not escape prosecution."
