Harvest Plus has named Nollywood star actor, Segun Arinze as its ambassador while Nigeria film maker and CEO of Abuja International Film Festival and one time president of Director Guild of Nigeria Fidelis Duker was named as the project consultants, even as the team led led country director Harvest Plus, Paul Iloma led a delegation from Harvest plus International to pay a visit to the chairman designate for NDDC distinguished senator Victor Ndoma Egba to brief him on the forthcoming Nutritious food Fair scheduled for the 9th to 11th of November 2016 at Calabar, Cross-River state capital International convention center.
Briefing the Senator on the need for the visit, the country director of Harvest plus international said the Food Fair is their organisations contribution to encouraging better eating habits amongst Nigerians. The need for nutritious food as part of our daily staple foods.
He said “Harvest plus has introduced several variants of nutritious food with the vitamin A cassava being the most advanced and grown by over one million farmers across the nation.” Paul Iloma will go ahead to present the samples of derivatives from the vitamin A cassava which has been made into chinchin. Bread, etc.
Mr Iloma among other things requested the distinguished senator to act as an advocate of nutritious food which the chairman designate of NDDC immediately accepted and promised he will be open to support and promote the project.
The delegation also had Ifeoma Okonkwo – Events manager . The meeting was centered on the nutritious food Fair 2016 with the theme: “You Are What You eat”. Speaking after the meeting with the senator,Iloma stated that delegation also discussed were area of collaboration between Harvest Plus international and NDDC in the area of job and wealth creation through agriculture, and the area of producing better nutritious foods. The NDDC chairman designate promised that the commission will be open to work with any organization concerned with the development of the region.
