Governor
Godwin Obaseki of Edo State yesterday appointed Osarodion Ogie as the Secretary
to the State Government (SSG).
The governor also appointed Mr Taiwo Francis Akerele as the Chief of Staff, Government House and Mr. John Mayaki as his interim Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
They are the first set of
appointments to be made by the governor after his inauguration.
The new SSG was sworn-in yesterday at the government house by the governor.
Ogie was the Director-General of the Obaseki campaign organization as well as the immediate past commissioner for works.
He also contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election with Godwin Obaseki.
He was the first Chief of Staff to former governor Adams Oshiomhole of the state.
The new Chief of Staff to the governor, Taiwo Akerele, was until his appointment, the Coordinator, Edo State Employment and Expenditure for Results (SEEFOR).
Taiwo was also a member of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team, under the chairmanship of Obaseki, the incumbent governor.
Mayaki, until his appointment, was the Executive Director, Media and Public Affairs during the Oshiomhole administration. He was also a former Senior Special Assistant on Media.
