The
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, visited Chief Femi Fani-Kayode at the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja on Tuesday.
The
governor arrived at the EFCC office at 2.15pm and left at 4.30pm.
He
was said to have been received by three operatives when he arrived at the
commission.
He
said he prayed with the former minister.
Fayose,
who spoke with journalists outside the commission’s office, described the
continued detention of the former presidential aide as vendetta.
The
governor said while Fani-Kayode was in good spirit when he met him, he could
not attest to the detainee’s state of mind .
Fayose
called on the Federal Government to stop “playing god” and allow the former
minister to enjoy the bail earlier granted to him by the court.
While
saying he could attest to the character of Fani-kayode, who he said would
not jump bail, he however questioned the rationale behind the former
minister’s continued detention since the EFCC had resolved to arraign him on
November 10.
