The Nigerian Army
Guards Brigade Headquarters has confirmed the identity of a woman arrested last
weekend camouflaging as a major in the army.
In a statement by Major Abdullahi Abba of the Guards Brigade, the Army
also debunked reports that the impostor was arrested along Keffi-Abuja road
with children strapped with bombs.
He said the woman was arrested at Dutsen Alhaji, Bwari Council of FCT
while parading herself as a Major serving with the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.
He said the impostor was also discovered to own and run an unregistered
and unlicensed clinic in Dutse area of the FCT. He added that the woman earlier
identified as Gumel Juliana, was later discovered to be an indigene of Kaduna
state with her real name revealed as Jummai Ann Ayuba.
He urged the general public to report unusual incidences and occurrences
to security agencies
