The
people of Kachikau in Nasarawa State had course to smile yesterday as the Road
Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA) opened an ultra modern clinic to
serve the community.
The
colourful event had so many dignatories in attendance including the State
Governor Umaru tank Al Makura who was represented by his Chief of Staff.
In her
welcome address, the National President of the Association ,Mrs Bolanle
Oluwayemis Oyeyemi said the clinic was built to give succor to Nigerians of all walks of life living in the
area.
According
to her,the project was the first of its kind by the Association since its
inception.
She
pledge the resolve of her Association establish more of the ultra modern clinic
in the future.This according to her will help in solving critical medical
issues affecting women especially in the area of infact mortality.She thanked all those who donated towards making the project a reality
In
his own remark,the Corps Marshal of the FRSC Dr Boboye Oyeyemi commended the
Association for its foresight in deeming it fit to build the clinic.
He
pledge the support of the Agency in making sure that the clinic have all it
requires to discharge its functions.
This
will include the deployment of permanent doctors and auxiliary staff .He called
on the State government to assist the clinic to grow.
According
to him, the clinic will be affiliated with the General Hospital, Keffi for referrals
and to manage emergency cases.
On
his part, Governor Al Makura, pledged to support the clinic .He called on
various NGOs and private entities to emulate the legacy laid by ROSOWA.
The
event was witnessed by top Executives of FRSC,traditional rulers ,members of
sister agencies like Prison Officers Wives Association,Fire Service Officers
wives Association, Nigerian Tourism Board and a host of others.
The clinic was estimated to cost about N20m to build.
