Ekweremadu, yesterday said he knew nothing about the alleged forging of the
Senate rules book, saying his emergence as the Deputy Senate President was his
only offence
.

He said his only offence was his emergence against the
wishes of the “powers that be”.
Speaking when members of Enugu State Economic Advisory Committee paid him a solidarity visit at his residence in Enugu, he said his hands were clean.
Ekweremadu, in a statement by his media aide, Uche Anichukwu , reiterated his commitment to the principles of the separation of power, independence of the legislature, and growth of the nation’s democracy.
