The Bauchi State Police Command has
arrested armed robbery suspects and busted a 419 syndicate.
The Police command’s spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed, said the robbery suspects were arrested in Toro Local Government Area and that a Peugeot 607 and a BMW car were recovered from them.
He said that the gang, numbering about 10, had stormed the
residence of one Mohammed Dan Azumi Abdulrahaman (Ubandoma) of Magama Gumau in
Toro LGA of Bauchi State, disarmed two private security guards and robbed the
complainant of his Peugeot 607 Motor vehicle and other valuable items.
He gave the names of the suspects as Saleh Ahmed Bichi alias Saleh Toro, Musa Ali Jaguar of Magama town, Abdulazeez Gambo also of Magama town.
In another development, the police spokesperson said the command arrested two members of a 419 syndicate that specialized in printing fake currencies.
According to him, suspected counterfeit currencies which included 138 pieces of 100 American dollars and 106 pieces of 1000 naira notes were found on the suspects.
SP Haruna added that substances suspected to be mercury and a bottle containing charms were recovered from the suspects.
