NIGERIA POLICE SHORTLISTS 338,227 FOR 10,000 POLICE JOBS




The Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC), Mike Okiro, yesterday said 338,227 applicants had been shortlisted from the 911,438 that applied for the recently advertised 10,000 police jobs.

573,211 applicants were eliminated through parameters set up in the recruitment portal for the exercise. Okiro said at a news conference in Abuja that the online recruitment portal was made available to the public for six weeks from April 1 to midnight on May 13, 2016.

He said those shortlisted would go to the next stage of recruitment which involves physical screening exercises at their states of origin   beginning on Monday, June 6 throughout the 36 states and the FCT.

He said of the 338, 227 shortlisted, 44,661 are for cadet ASP, 87, 736 for Cadet Inspectors and 205, 830 for Constables. Benue State has 29, 000 applicants invited for the next stage while the second highest, Kogi, has 19,000. Lagos has one of the lowest number of applicants with about 2000.
