Some
passengers of Dana Air were yesterday stranded at airports across the country
for several hours following a strike embarked upon by the airline’s pilots.
The
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the decision of the pilots to
disrupt the airline’s flight operations followed by a dispute they had with the
management over welfare issues.
A
NAN correspondent who monitored the situation at the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2
(MMA 2), Lagos, reports that some of the airline’s flights scheduled for the
early part of yesterday were cancelled. Some of the affected passengers
who had bought flight tickets said they had to make alternative arrangements to
get to their destinations.
Dana
Air’s Communications Manager Kingsley Ezenwa, who confirmed the development,
said the issue had been resolved.
“The
issue has been resolved. It was just a small miscommunication between Dana
management and pilots.
