Ten customers of United Bank for Africa (UBA) who made use of Western Union and MoneyGram have won an all-expense paid trip to Kenya in the second batch of the UBA Remittance Awoof Promo held at the weekend.
The 10 winners were part of the 50 customers who were rewarded by the bank for their loyalty. The winners emerged from account holders and non-account holders that sent and received MoneyGram and Western Union money transfers at the bank within the period of January 25th and April 30th this year.
At the draws, which took place at the bank’s Head Office last week Friday, 10 winners, five each of Western Union and MoneyGram, were drawn and will enjoy a 3-day all expenses paid trip to Kenya, sponsored by the bank.
The five winners for the Dubai Trip that received money through MoneyGram are; Adenuga Abimbola Emmanuel of Lagos Mainland, Egwuanikwu Collins of Abuja, Amaka Favour Egbo of Enugu; Ridge Koripamo of Port Harcourt 1, and Adu Tosin from West Central.
From Western Union, the five winners are; Osagie Osas from Apapa 1, Abdulrahman Suleiman Uba from Niger, Obinna Daniel Chibuikem from Owerri, Nwaokobia Isioma from Asaba, and Ogunleye Olawale from Oyo.
Also a total of 40 customers won 10 DSTV Decoders plus one year subscription, 10 Home Theatre Systems, 10 Bose Speakers and 10 Beats by Dre. The 40 customers represented an equal number of Western Union and Moneygram customers.
One of the winners, Mr Osagie Osas Omokaro, a customer from Lagos expressed his joy and gratitude to the bank when he was informed of his winnings through the phone. “I am very happy at this opportunity, I still do not know what to say, but I am very grateful to UBA” he said.
Anant Rao, Group Head, Consumer and Digital Banking, appreciated customers for their loyalty and trust in the bank, adding that the Awoof Promo was carried out to reward customers who have patronised the bank in one way or the other.
“This is our way of rewarding people who bank with us, not necessarily our customers. It is part of our bank’s transformation process to put the customers’ first and to connect with them. It is also a way of acknowledging our customers and we are doing this to create a rewarding experience for the UBA customer” he said.
UBA is a leading player in the Remittance segment, offering money transfer services through MoneyGram, Western Union and AfriCash. Millions of the bank’s customers rely on the UBA extensive network across Africa for transfers across the continent.
