NIGERIA PUSH-55 CHALLENGE MAKES IT'S DEBUT

Eternal Legacy Foundation/PUSH-55 is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with a focus on helping to enhance the quality of life of underprivileged children, youths and widows. We are launching a global PUSH UP campaign to increase public awareness and to raise funds to aid in transforming the lives of underprivileged, disabled and abandoned children as well as helpless widows in Nigeria.

By mimicking the 2015 ALS Ice-bucket challenge that took place in the US and around the world, the creator of PUSH-55, Dr. Okey Napoleon Iwunwa is advancing the change that the present Nigerian government has promised its citizens by taking up the task to help what he called ‘the forgotten, abandoned, abused and often molested’ members of our society. He hopes that both states and federal government will therefore take advantage of the PUSH-55 program, to key-in and partner with the organization to ensure that changes in this country trickles down to the lives of everyone – from bottom to the top. This is a national initiative for better living.

PUSH-55 challenge is set to kick-off in Nigeria and around the world on January 10, 2016.

Details on how to participate is on the website, www.push55.org
PUSH 55 aims to raise N7bn (Approximately, $35m USD) which will be used to build six (6) vocational training centres for the underprivileged children across Nigeria. The training centres will be located in each of the geo-political zones (SS, SW, SE, NC, NE, NW). These centres will train the children on various technical and non-technical trades to prepare them for tomorrow’s life.
• 25% of the fund raised will be set aside to create small-scale loan programs for rural and deprived widows in the country.
Dr. Napoleon Okey Iwunwa noted that both underprivileged children and widows in Nigeria are under great abuse and neglect. The current system in the country has no enforceable protection law for them, thus leaving them with teary eyes all through the seasons. These two classes are vulnerable to sicknesses and diseases, including HIV/AIDS due to poverty, lack of protection and care. Eternal Legacy is inviting every citizen, including corporations, media houses all over the world and in Nigeria, Nigerian celebrities and the youths to get involved in this campaign for donation.
There are over 190 million people in Nigeria. Rather than wait for the government to materialize transformation in our society, everyone can add weight to lift Nigeria higher by being a proactive participant. These forgotten and underserved children need our massive support. If 5 million Nigerians donate N1,500 (each person), we will raise over N7bn. This is a realistic figure. Truth is, ‘no amount is too small, and no amount is too big to save a life’.

The children are our responsibilities. If we continue to neglect them, they may grow up to become public nuisance, armed robbers or worse still, join terrorists groups against us, for abandoning them. Terror groups are looking for vulnerable youths to recruit.
In Nigeria today, there are over 11 million of these children who either dropped out of school or have no parents to care for them. Giving them a life of purpose is our primary goal. PUSH-55 is on the way to make their dreams a reality. This social mission to help communities is a core component of PUSH55 identity. In association with Youth Bank International (Nig), and Olivia Children’s Foundation (Nig), Eternal Legacy Foundation/Napoleon Institute is therefore launching PUSH-55 as a fundraiser. We want everyone to have fun and enjoy giving.
The key objective of this campaign is giving. Our conscious spirit is underscored by our commitment to non-profit catering to causes such as homeless and underprivileged/disabled children and deprived widows.
It's been particularly difficult throughout the country and the government is doing its best to lay new foundations. PUSH-55 is an independent program created to support government efforts. By donating toward this cause, you are helping to alleviate the hardships faced by these children and widows.
