The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the judgement of the Election Tribunal and declared that Mr. Darius Ishaku was validly elected as Governor of Taraba State. The Appeal Court took its time to resolve the four issues laid before it by both the APC and PDP and their candidates: Mrs Alhassan and Ishaku. And at the end upturned the judgement of the lower tribunal.
The court of appeal has rulled that the first respondent(APC) candidate has no right to challenge the candidature of the PDP candidate in the elections as all evidence affirmed that the candidate was duly sponsored by his party and neither INEC nor participants to the primaries have complained otherwise.
Says the PDP correspondent satisfied all constitutional requirement and was qualified to contest the elections. Court upturns Tribunal judgement in its entirety, orders that the certificate of return given to the PDP candidate remain valid. It has returned Dairus Ishiaku as governor elect of Taraba state. All 5 justices in consonant
