Kidnapped National Chairman of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria and the presidential candidate of the party in the 2015 general election, Alhaji Gani Galadima, who was kidnapped by gunmen on Friday has been released.
His friend and Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, Chief Peter Ameh, who confirmed his release in a phone interview, said the ACPN chairman was granted freedom by his captors on Sunday morning.
Ameh, who is the National Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, said, “I am proud and happy to inform you that Alhaji Galadima has been released after paying ransom to his abductors.
Galadima, who also confirmed his freedom in a telephone interview saying that he was robbed alongside two other women and taken to the forest.
“I trekked about five kilometres and came to Kabba junction and that was it. The two other women who were going to Akoko-Edo for burial were also freed. It was a horrible experience and to God be the glory.”
Galadima was abducted less than 24 hours to the Kogi State supplementary governorship election.
