Nigeria's Minister of State for Petroleum and Group Managing Director of the NNPC ,Ibe Kachikwu has been appointed the President of OPEC..He replaces Diezani Alison Madueke that was elected the first female OPEC President few months before the exipartion of the Goodluck Jonathan's administeration.Kachikwu by his appointment as Petroleum Minister automatically assumes the office as Nigeria's representative to OPEC..He will serve out Dizani Madueke's tenure.
