Benue state governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, confirmed the death of the first class ruler to newsmen on Tuesday morning.
He, however, said that details of the death and announcement would be made to the public later in the day as he said he was awaiting Tiv traditional council to formally communicate the news to him.
"As I am talking to you now, the Tiv traditional council members have just left Gboko to formally announce the passing away of the paramount ruler," he said.
