Ogun State Traffic Management Agency (TRACE) is to deploy 150 operatives and traffic materials for Traffic Control, safety and proper parking arrangement towards a befitting burial ceremony of Late Chief Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo from Sunday 22nd to Thursday 26th November, 2015.
The Acting Corps Commander, Commander Seni Ogunyemi who made this known in his Office in Abeokuta, revealed that the operatives would be there to ensure free flow of traffic during the burial.
“We will be physically present, we have marked out the strategy at Ikenne where we are going to do park and ride and car-pooling system. About seven designated parking lots have been earmarked where sympathizers and well wishers coming for the ceremony will park their vehicles”. Ogunyemi disclosed.
He said the operational locations would start from Lagos boundary through Ibadan to Mowe Ibafo axis to Sagamu interchange, from Ogere to Sapade and Ogunmakin to Ibadan.
The Acting Corps Commander revealed that the security chiefs in Ogun State had met to ensure safety of lives and property and also to enhance free flow of traffic on the venue of the burial.
“We are going to ensure physical scanning of the entire route’ for the journey and ensure that no impediment of free flow of traffic during the period”. He said.
Ogunyemi revealed that the TRACE Headquaters would be relocated to Ikenne from Sunday 22nd to Thursday 26th of November for proper supervision.
He however assured the people of the State of prompt dissemination of traffic information during the period as at when due explaining that prompt attention would be given to emergency situation.
