The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Adedayo Adeneye stated this while on a familiarisation visit to Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Abeokuta.
Adeneye said the media play a significant role in governance, explaining that Government could not but give them maximum support towards the full implementation and propagation of its programmes and policies.
“The Senator Ibikunle Amosun – led Administration quiet appreciate the support of the media, both print and electronics, without the media, global publics will know nothing about activities of the Government and that is why we are intensifying efforts to consolidate on the existing relationship and build more in order to enjoy wider media coverage and the Mission to Rebuild publicity in the State”. He said.
The Commissioner said that Government has not forgotten its obligations and promises to the media houses, noting that paucity of funds had hindered its fulfilment, while assuring that Government would do everything within its capacity to support media houses operating in the State.
Adeneye urged them not to rest on their oars in projecting the programmes and policies of Government adequately.
Speaking earlier, the General Manager NTA, Abeokuta, Mr Babatunde Segun Folarin appreciated the visit and congratulated him on his appointment.
“NTA Abeokuta has always been collaborating with the State Government because our mission here is to project the image of the Government. I can say boldly here that there is no Government that its activities are well projected in Nigeria than the Ogun State Government”, he said.
