Yesterday was a great moment for the doyen of Nigerian politics and the JAGABAN of AFRICA as he was honored by the organizers of Africa's undoubtedly biggest Music Award AFRIMA yesterday in Lagos in collaboration with the AFRICAN UNION.For a long while,i have been waiting for the opportunity to see BAT at a close range and yesterday offered me such an opportunity.The whole hall was so electrifying as the man walked majestically into the hall.The whole media especially the Broadcast stations were allover him.They were jumping over each other to interview him..Tinubu is surely a media man,he granted their wish and spoke passionately at the Red Carpet end.He then moved with entourage to the VVIP end with those that came with him.after he was well seated,myself and my close friends that were at the other end of the VVIP end decided to go and greet the man who has become an enigma in the politics and socio-economic life of Nigeria..On our entourage were Steve Ayorinde,The Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy,Dayo Adeneye,Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy,ace comedian Gbenga Adeyinka 1st,Multiple award winning Movie Producer Kunle Afolayan,Owner of HIPtv Ayo Animashaun,my humble self and Michael Dada ,the President of AFRIMA.Tinubu was at home with us,throwing banters and jokes..No air around him.I was shocked because this was contrary to the notion i have about him (Enough to realise not to judge anyone until you've met him one on one).I couldn't believe this was the same Tinubu that is well revered across Nigeria and Africa.The political nightmare of several people.The man who single handedly planned the exit of a sitting President and "installed" a new one.We spent sometime with him before returning to our seats.In the course of the programme,Asiwaju was called upon to receive his award..A large number of people including yours sincerely followed him to the stage.Tinubu spoke for about five minutes,i was moved,i was shocked,i was mesmerized..He spoke off hand,no written speech but you cannot fault a single word that he said.Tinubu is an orator.He knows how to choose his words (He must have been doing this for long) .He asked us to observe a one minute silence for those killed in Paris.He spoke about African Unity (Nigeria).He called on African youths to see themselves as the leaders of tomorrow..He asked them to rise to the occassion by making positive impacts on our continents..He thanked the organizers of the event for the honor done him .
TINUBU DEFINITELY WON ME OVER LAST NIGHT.WHATEVER NEGATIVE IMPRESSION I VE ALWAYS HAD ABOUT HIM DISAPPEARED AFTER THAT SPEECH..I HAVE SEEN THE REASONS WHY TINUBU HAS A CULT FOLLOWING AND IT MAY BE LONG BEFORE ANY ONE CAN DISLODGE HIM (NOT THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE) ,BUT WHO EVER WANTS TO WRESTLE POWER FROM THIS MAN ,JUST HAVE TO WORK VERY VERY HARD..JAGABAN IS AN ALL ROUNDER..I SALUTE THIS ENIGMA OF A MAN.
