Detectives at the Ogun State Police command on Tuesday quizzed popular fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly called K1 de Ultimate, over the shooting of a female student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye three weeks ago.
It was gathered that the artiste arrived at the state police headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta around 11am on Tuesday.
He was reported to have been interrogated by policemen attached to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence for about six hours before he was released on bail.
It will be recalled that one of the band members of the musician allegedly fired a shot which hit a female OOU student identified as Azeez Kofoworola on Saturday, October 10, during a musical show at Limelite hotel in Ago Iwoye.
The victim, who is studying Business Education, was hit by a stray bullet while sitting inside an unregistered Honda Accord belonging to an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps identified as Hassan Afeez.
Kofoworola was later rushed to General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, for treatment.
The musician had, however, denied that the incident happened at his show.
Shortly after, the police had summoned him to appear and tell them what he knew about the incident.
Ayinde had said he left the shores of Nigeria to London immediately after the show.
Before he was released, he was said to have got a reliable surety on the condition that the surety would provide him anytime he was needed.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the musician was interrogated over the shooting.
He said, “The fuji musician left the premises of the Eleweran Command Headquarters around 5.30pm on the promise that he would make himself available for further police investigation.”
