CONTROVERSIES TRAIL BABAFEMI OJUDU'S COMMENTS ON BUHARI

A former Senator from Ekiti State and a bigwig of APC Senator Babafemi Ojudu has denied he report that he castigated President Muhammadu Buhari over the rejection of Barr Femi Falana as a minister. He also denied the statement credited to him by an online medium that the Yorubas will fair worse under the regime of the President.

Here was the statement he pushed out:

"My attention has been drawn to a statement credited to me by Sahara Reporters that The Buhari regime will be worse for Yorubas than the preceding regimes.

This statement was taken out of context. I spoke for 30 minutes at a conference organized by Afenifere Renewal Group North America. In Detriot, United States of America. The issue in discussion was Yoruba unity and the conflicts among its many political groups as well as leaders.

The exact words I said was "If the Yorubas do not unite and find a common purpose the Buhari regime will be worse for our people than previous regimes".

Some political jobbers have gone on to interpret this statement to mean that I declare war on Buhari regime. Who am to declare war on a regime that I joined other patriots to put in place. I am a change advocate and I strongly believe this regime will bring about the necessary change in our national life "..Senator Babafemi Ojudu
