ABIA GOVERNOR APPOINTS MEDIA AIDES,SSG,CHIEF OF STAFF

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, has named members of his media team in the first set of appointments he has made since his inauguration last Friday.
He named Mr. Godwin Adindu as Chief Press Secretary (CPC), while Ugochukwu Emezue and Ojo Maduekwe of THISDAY were appointed Special Assistants on Media.
In the appointments announced on the state radio, the post of Secretary to the State Government (SSG) was given to Dr. Eme Okoro, Chief of Staff, Chijioke Nwakodo and Deputy Chief of Staff, John Nwangborogwu.
The immediate past commissioner for local government, Emma Nwabuko, was made Special Adviser, Project Monitoring and Implementation, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, who was Special Adviser on Special Duties in the last administration retained his position just like the Special Adviser on Security, Capt Awa Kalu (rtd).

Other Special Advisers appointed include Mr. Obinna Oriaku, Economic Planning, Hon. Solomon Ogunji, Political cum Aba Urban Renewal, Legislative Matter, Hon Chinedum Elechi, Mr. Austin Ufomba, Public, Private Partnership cum Investment Promotion and Kalu Anyim Uduma, Special Adviser on Due Process.
Mr. Valentine Ifeanyi Okpechi, who was acting Director of Protocol in the last government was appointed substantive Director of Protocol.
Until his new appointment, the new CPS, Adindu was Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the former governor and has over 25 years experience as a print journalist. He is also a public relations consultant as well as social critic and government spokesperson.
A graduate of Andrews University, Michigan, USA, Adindu holds an M.Sc degree in media and communications from the PAN African University/Lagos Business School and a post graduate Diploma in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Calabar.
He began his working life as an Assistant lecturer in the Language and Communication Department of the Adventist Seminary of West Africa (now Babcock University) and later joined the defunct Post Express Newspapers where he rose to the post of Features/Metro Editor.
Adindu later join the pioneer team of INSIDER Magazine and left in 2002 to serve as head of covers and investigation of Daily Independent newspapers and later in 2004 made a foray into media/public relations consultancy and served with the C and F Porter Novelli as a senior manager, media services before joining Taijo Wonukabe Ltd and public relations agency with specialisation in custom media and was head of custom media.
In 2007, Adindu founded his own marketing agency, goodwill communication company and served as the managing partner until 2011 when he joined the media team of the outgone Governor of Abia State, Chief TA Orji as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication and later promoted to Special Adviser, Media in 2013 the position he held until his current appointment.
He is married with three children.
