A reliable source at the villa indicated after the valedictory meeting, the cabinet will be dissolved on Thursday night during the dinner to be hosted by the president for Buhari.
A presidency official explained that the president had decided to dissolve the cabinet on Thursday to enable his ministers attend the presidential dinner.
According to a source, members of the council are all aware of the development with regards to the cabinet dissolution.
Yesterday, copies of the federal government's handover notes were presented to Buhari’s Transition Committee headed by Ahmed Joda at the vice-presidential wing of the Presidential Villa.
A presidency source, who pleaded anonymity, said it is expected that Jonathan would handover any pending ministerial and agency briefs to Buhari on May 28.
