Speaking during a charity visit organized by the Institute to the Abuja Children’s Home to mark the 2015 Children’s day, the Abuja Chapter Chairman of the Institute, Ohaeri Osondu identified good moral values as very essential to engender proper conduct of children and youths.
He added that the charity visit was in fulfillment of the NIPR’s disposition to deliver on its goals bordering on corporate social responsibility which seeks to impart positively on an organisation’s internal and external publics.
According to him, “ the Abuja Chapter of the NIPR has drawn out some activities to impact positively on its partners within the Federal Capital Territory which includes this charity visit to share some moments with the children. It is obvious that most parents will take their children out to eateries later in the day but we deemed it ideal to come early in the day to spend time with the children to show them sense of belonging”.
Responding to the presentations from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the Administrator of the Home, Suleiman Sa’id commended the Institute for visiting the children at this moment and described the gesture as memorable. He also urged other professional bodies to replicate the gesture by the NIPR adding that children require the best in terms of education and provision of essential needs to guarantee their future and ensure national growth.
Items donated by the NIPR include toiletaries, household items, clothings, electronic appliances.
