The Nigerian High commissioner to the United Kingdom,Alhaji Dalhatu Sarki Tafida was a guest of the Igbo community in North East of England on 24th and 25th April 2015 courtesy the Ndi Igbo North East of England (NINEE). The event was held in the Beacon event place in Newcastle.
As part of his itinerary he was taken on a tour of Newcastle where he had his early education in the early 70s ( 1970-73) .
As part of the activities of the organization a symposium on maternal mental health was also held by the Association.
The event ended with a question and answer session where various issues that affect Nigerians in the United Kingdom were discussed such as immigration, passport issues, and welfare amongst others.
He used the occasion to enjoined Nigerians living in United Kingdom to be of good behaviour and good ambassadors of their country.
The event will become a periodic activity in the calendar of the Association.
