President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero, son of the late Emir of Kano, the late Alhaji Ado Bayero, as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
Sanusi, a lawyer and long considered the crown prince who was to succeed his late father before the Kano State Emirate Council settled for the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and current emir, Muhammad Sanusi II, takes over from Mallam Habib Abdullahi who was relieved of his appointment.
The appointment of the new NPA managing director, in a statement by presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, takes effect from today.
Jonathan thanked the outgoing managing director for his services and wished him well in his future endeavours
