Obaze,APGA Candidate Shuts Down Schools In Ogbaru,Anambra State

By Nnamdi Okeke and Tony Obi, for Concerned Teachers of Anambra North

The desperation of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA senatorial candidate, Dubem Obaze to win in Anambra North Senatorial District assumed a frightening dimension yesterday, when he (Obaze) unilaterally shut down all schools in Ogbaru area.
Obviously acting with the connivance of the APGA –led Anambra State government, Obaze ordered all teachers of the shut down government schools to report at his Ochuche House since 8.30 am, therefore leaving their duty posts and leaving the thousands of school children in their care unattended to.
Indeed, it was a terrible situation in Ogbaru yesterday, from Okpoko to Ogwu, as young school children roamed the streets of Ogbaru without anybody to take care of them or control them. The implication for the safety and security of these children is better imagined.
The desperate political actors from APGA continued with their brazen act of commandeering of the teachers in the Ogbaru area against their will and against their duties as school teachers.
It is clear to political observers that, the APGA Anambra government of Willy Obiano is worried and the APGA senatorial candidate, Dubem Obaze is jittery and frustrated by the overwhelming popularity of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP candidate, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah, a situation which has made them throw caution to the wind and embark on a brazen and wicked illegality.
We must hasten to state that the school teachers of Ogbaru land which is the home stead of Princess Oduah are not the slaves of the Obiano administration in the state.
We are aware that at the forced meeting where the Ogbaru teachers were summoned and that lasted for almost the whole working day, Obaze and some Anambra government officials who also addressed them, promised the teachers ’ heaven and earth.’ But as we all know, these are fake promises by desperate politicians.
We, the concerned teachers of Anambra North totally deplore the illegal political tactics of the APGA administration in the state, which by its latest actions, has humiliated ,insulted and demeaned the hardworking teachers of Anambra North.
We therefore, demand that the Obiano administration in Anambra State should call its APGA senatorial candidate, Obaze to order and that the state government itself, should stop forthwith its brazen and illegal acts of intimidation, blackmail, coercion, Inducement ,among others against the people of Anambra as a whole and the people of Anambra North and Ogbaru in particular because of their desperation to win in Saturday’s general elections.
We hasten to add that their desperation is against the will of the majority of Anambra North people who are determined to cast their votes for the illustrious, hard working and popular PDP candidate, Princess Oduah.
Saturday is the date when the APGA senatorial candidate will very likely meet his ‘waterloo’ at the polling booths across Onitsha, Ogbarland, and other parts of Anambra North Senatorial district. Our people cannot abandon a performer who has done so much for the development of our people both in and out of public office and go and vote for political upstarts and overnight political jobbers.
Our good people of Anambra State and Anambra North we implore you to remain steadfast in your support for the PDP and its candidate. The siege will soon be over. Let your vote count for good on Saturday.
