If our Legislators were properly doing their work Gen. Buhari should not have been allowed to contest on the basis of s.1(1) of the 1999 which he violated in the past, the sacred provision states as follows:

1(2) The Federal Republic of Nigeria shall not be governed, nor shall any persons or group of persons take control of the Government of Nigeria or any part thereof, except in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution.

Allowing a person that has committed one of the most serious crime against the constitution is same as seeing that person approbating a position which he formerly reprobate by his conduct.

In fact, for such a person to have done that, he is to be termed personae non grata in Law and forbidden from holding any office of private or public nature.
