4 Killed As Police ,Robbers Exchange Fire In Port Harcourt

Four persons lost their lives when caught in a crossfire between the police and suspected robbers at the Agip area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Monday evening.
While the identity of those killed in the incident could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ahmad Muhammad, confirmed the development.
According to him, the police, acting on a tip off that some robbers were operating at one hotel in the area, stormed the spot.
He said a gunfire exchange ensued and the robbers shot about four persons dead in their bid to escape from the area when the policemen arrived the scene.
“Our men, on a tip off, stormed the  hideout of the robbery gang that specialises in car snatching. As the gun duel ensued, they resorted to sporadic shooting and, while escaping, killed four persons,” he said
