Akwa Ibom State governor, Mr. Godswill Akpabio, has asked youths in the
state not to sacrifice their lives for the All Progressives Congress, saying
that their lives were too precious to be wasted.
Akpabio stated this on Saturday during the Peoples Democratic Party
campaign rally of its governorship candidate, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, in the Etim
Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
“Do not allow anyone to deceive you into sacrificing your lives for
them. No Akwa Ibom child should go and sacrifice their lives for APC,” he said.
He also urged the youths to cast their votes for those who have their
interests at heart and who would empower them through industrialisation of the
state.
The governor said Emmanuel was fished out by God and that the same God
would use the PDP candidate to change the lives of the people of the state.
He said, “God has fished out Emmanuel and no man can touch him. You
should all vote for our President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, for second term in
office as our president so that he will continue with the transformation he has
started.
“Emmanuel is the right man to be the next governor of the state because
he has God’s support.”
Akpabio thanked the people of Etim Ekpo LGA for the support the people
had given him in the last seven-and-a- half years.
He assured them that the next governor would continue with the “uncommon
transformations” he had started in the state.
Emmanuel on his part assured the people that, if voted into power, his
administration would ensure good governance.
He added that the next administration under his watch would focus more
on empowering the women and youths in the state.
“For the fact that you all show me love, the next administration under
my watch is set for the youths, women and students by providing employment,
industrialisation and quality education, among others. I need your support to
continue with the development of the state,” he said.
