The Award recognises and honours mothers from different walks of life who have

the family.
Commenting on the event, Project
Director, and Founder, Moms Africa, Mrs. Mary Ikoku said, “A good
majority of mothers all across the country work in various capacities as
career climbing executives, entrepreneurs and home makers. Moms play major
roles in the society. Through their work at home, in businesses, at the office
and in our communities, they provide support within their families, works,
and businesses. Through volunteers they run or actively participate in the many
support organisations within the community”.
According to her, the awards will provide mothers
from across the different spectrum and across Nigeria with an opportunity to be
recognised and nominated for their contributions in the world of work, business,
home, ministry and their communities.
She noted that Nigerian women make up much of the
population and deserve to be honoured for the roles they are playing in the
home, office and the community saying that the reward covers moms of all age
brackets in the country.
She disclosed that the award is in ten categories

her career, contributing effectively to her communities and at the same time
raising her young children well while the
Momprenuer category will reward a mum whose family and company is successful,
reflects her value and supports local community just as the ‘New to Motherhood’

is making an impact within the family, work, business, and wider community.
She added that the Working mom In Media is for those moms who have positive influence and are
strong role models who we turn to for breaking news and to illuminate the
issues that matter to us and to our families while The Trailblazer Mom is a mom who discovers something new and makes it
acceptable or popular, through teaching, mentoring, research and services. She
has had a profound influence in the society in the lives of thousands of new
and intending mothers, has a large fan base and redefining what it means to be
famous today. This mom must also be seen as great at home raising trailblazer
kids.
She also said that while the Mom in Banking Award honors the mothers in the
banking sector, nominations are called for major power players, handling
billions of Naira in assets and staffs of thousands or are in a role of
decisions making process that shape the bank policies, the Mom In Art/Fashion/Design will be for moms making
inroads through their talent as fashion designers and stylists in spite of all
these are raising great family while the Bump Up Award will be presented to a Mum

family around as a result of their faith and have used an ugly circumstance to impact
lives. Super Mom Category focuses more on Moms in the lower strata of the
society. They thrive in their semi-skilled and most times unskilled labour to
raise and mold lives up to an enviable level. They are the unsung Heroines of
our time.
