Governor of Abia State,
Chief Theodore Orji, has congratulated Enyimba Football Club of Aba for
defeating Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt 2-1 in this year's Federation Cup final
played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, Governor Orji who thanked the Aba-based team for winning the FA cup back-to-back, said he was proud of the boys and their management team for giving him and the people of the state something to cherish after they finished second in the Glo Premier League.
He also thanked the Enyimba's supporters for their continued support to the team adding that their presence at the stadium spurred the people's elephant to win the coveted trophy.
Governor Orji who attributed Enyimba's victory over Dolphins FC to their discipline and tactical approach to the match, said his government would continue to invest in sports development in the state. The Governor also commended Abia Warriors FC and and Abia Commets for great performance during the just concluded football season.
