Police Arrest National Assembly Union Leaders Over Proposed Protest On None Payment Of Salaries

A team of riot Police yesterday aborted a protest by National Assembly workers over non-payment of their October salaries.
The protest leaders have also been arrested by the police.
It was reported last week that workers and lawmakers were complaining of not receiving their October salaries, more than a week into the month.
They said it was the first time they will not be paid since the return of democracy in 1999.
