In a bid to ease the collection of
driver’s licence and increase the revenue of Federal Road Safety Commission
(FRSC), the commission has said it will open 200 driver’s licence offices
across the country.
Speaking during the commissioning of a new
driver’s licence centre in Offa, Kwara State capital, the Corps Marshal and
Chief Executive Officer of FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, said the step was to sustain
the integrity of driver’s licence in the country.
Boboye, who urged drivers to obtain and
renew their driver’s licence at the new office instead of travelling to Ilorin,
advised them to drive carefully during the Christmas and New Year year
celebrations.
In his remarks, the Olofa of Offa, Oba
Mufutau Okikiola, noted that citing of the office in Offa was to ensure easy
collection of the licence and reduce travelling risks.
Commending the FRSC, Chairman of the
Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), who is also the Chairman of
Offa Descendants Union, Alhaji Najimdeen Yasin said more development awaits
Offa Local Government Area.
The acting Chairman, Board of Internal
Revenue, Nurudeen Ibrahim, represented Kwara Sate Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah
