Tracing The Lord Of Bourdillion (CKN Adventure To See Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu)

Last weekend I breezed into Lagos from my base in Abuja to attend a Press Conference someone in Lagos Island..Since I had so much time on my hand because I arrived the venue quite early as I was taught by Ayo Duyile at NIJ (Journalism School)..I decided to do a quick dash to home of the LORD OF LAGOS,the Jagaban himself,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Bourdillion road Ikoyi..Not that I believe I ll have access to him without an appointment or as a Chieftain of the APC,but I wanted to know what an average daily activies around the residence of the man who has become the defacto face of opposition in Nigeria (Like Chief Obafemi Awolowo) looks like..I have heard so much about Bourdillion and the rate at which people troop to the place which has become a political mecca of a sort.. Arriving Bourdillion was not a big task, no hold up.. No heavy traffic that always characterized Lagos roads..Entering from the Falomo end was a smooth ride (Lagos has really changed for good),thanks to BRF for the wonderful work he has done in the past 7 years in transforming Lagos...You can also now access the road from the newly constructed road off Osborne Road..Indeed Lagos is working for good (A Plus for APC in Lagos)..Locating Tinubu's house was not a problem..I didn't even bother to ask anyone,as a crack investigative Journalist, i knew what to look out for and was not disappointed..As I approached the house,i saw a fleet of buses and cars painted in APC colours..Well dressed women in various uniforms of Aso Ebi..Most of them were sitting on bare floors, some on pavements while others were chatting away..I parked and briskly joined them..Walked up to the gate where two trucks loaded with fully armed mobile policemen were stationed.. I approached the main gate only to be stopped by a stern looking plain security man whom I guess was from DSS..YES,STOP THERE,WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO,WHO ARE YOU LOOKING FOR (He thundered)..How many questions will I answer at the same time..as I open my 34 white teeth to give him a hard knocked smile...I am a Journalist I replied ,from where he continued ,from Abuja I said..Which paper,Punch,Thisday abi Tribune he asked (as if those were the only media houses in Nigeria)..I said CKN Nigeria..CKN wetin?..II repeated CKN Nigeria..I never hear that one before abi una just start he asked sarcastically...We are based in Abuja I replied..Ok ,go that side,as he directed me to a booth..Where another round of questions continue..Do you have an appointment with him, before I replied, they asked again where is YOUR PASS (I never knew I needed a pass to meet the man)..I said I don't have a pass..It was then a beautiful security lady walked up to me to inform me that JAGABAN no longer live here (Bourdilion)..He has moved to VI (Around Adeola Odeku,i guess)..Here has been converted to his office...Whaooo, how come BAT ,moved home without anyone of us knowing.. How come we still refer to him as the Lord Of Bourdilion?..Is it that he played a fast one on all of us or was it that the Security operatives were lying.. I thanked her and moved back..It wasn't going to be my day..I simply asked some of the women how long they have been there ,some of them said they arrived at about 5am that morning and it was 1.45pm already and I doubt if they will see Jagaban with the number of people I saw milling around the gate...Next time,i will be well prepared when looking for the man whom we all have come to love and hate at the same time..I will get MY PASS no matter how difficult it will take me...CKN..
